On September 2nd the BirdieSisters filmed a segment of ”Someone You Should Know” with host Mr. Harry Porterfield of CBS2Chicago. Harry Porterfield co-anchors the 11 AM news with Roseanne Tellez and he continues the franchise he created at CBS 2 in 1977, “Someone You Should Know.” “Someone You Should Know” is a series of profiles on everyday people who make a difference. This week he is profiling the BirdieSisters in a spot that will air three times this week (11:00 a.m., 5:00 p.m., and 10:00 p.m.) on varying days. It can also be seen at : http://cbs2chicago.com/someoneyoushouldknow/someone.you.should.2.1183927.html.
The BirdieSisters and their family would like to thank CBS2Chicago, Mr. Harry Porterfield and the staff at CBS for their support. This opportunity was truly a blessing and we are looking forward to many more.

Today the BirdieSisters were honored guest of the Matt and Perri Show on WVON 1690 am radio. The interview was held at “The African Festival Of Fine Arts” in Washington Park (Chicago IL). The girls talked about golf, school, church, Girl Scouts, and all their other activites. It was a great day and there was a crowd on hand for the show. There were also many influential people who may be able to provide support. The BirdieSisters had a good time and a great interview. Thanks Matt and Perri for your support. We would also like to thank the staff and management at WVON AM 1690.

The BirdieSisters played in the Chicago State University (CSU) Women’s Golf team’s first annual golf outing. The outing was sponsored by the Rotary Club of New Lenox and CSU’s golf coach (men and women), Ms. Alexis Mihelich, at the Sanctuary Golf Course in New Lenox, Illinois (58 miles 1hour 5 mintues from home). The game was 4 person best ball and the BirdieSisters were honored to play with Ms. Sharon Rushing and Ms. Marilee Gallagher. The group had a 9:00 am tee time with a 3:00 pm dinner. The ladies played well together, shooting 2 under — 70. Myah won closest to the pin on hole 4. It was an 80 yard par 3 and she placed her ball 6 feet from the cup. On the 6th and 11th holes the ladies of the CSU golf team ( Ms.Tessa Harp, Ms. Brittany Johnson, Diana Flores and Ms. Andrea Rosado) showed their skills with their irons. The weather was great, the food was good, and most of all the girls had a chance to make new friends. Good luck to all the golfers at Chicago State University from the BirdieSisters and their family.
