Mid-American Junior Golf Tour “Blackberry Oaks”

BirdieSister Erica Jackson Played in the Mid-American Junior Golf Tour’s second event at “Blackberry Oaks Golf Course” in Bristol Illinois, 50 miles (1 hour 30 minutes) from home.  The weather on Monday was cloudy  with temps in the upper 60′s and Tuesday’s  temps were in the low 70′s with clear skies.

These may have been the busiest days of the golf year for tournaments so the field was small but strong.  While Erica won’t admit it, I believe she misses her sister because she played like she was in San Diego with her.  However, things got better the second day and she managed to hang on to the lead.  For more info, stats and pictures see :http://majgt.bluegolf.com/bluegolf/majgt9/event/majgt96/contest/7/leaderboard.htm

Big July Scheduling

July is the big junior golf month.  Traveling, practicing and playing, this is it!  For the first time the BirdieSisters will separate and play in different states.  Please keep the comments and well wishes flowing to motivate the girls this month!

• July 9th — IJGA YDP (10-13) at “Arlington Lakes” 
• July 13-15th — Callaway Junior World Championships in San Diego, CA - Myah only
• July 13-14th — MAJGT “Blackberry Oaks” - Erica only
• July 15th — US Kids Local Tour “Sportsman’s Park” - Erica only
• July 18-19th — Midwest Golf Assoc. Junior Championship, Lima, OH
• July 22nd — IJGA YDP (6-9) “Winnetka” 
• July 30th — IJGA YDP (10-11) “Craig Woods” 

The BirdieSisters also hope to find time to make it to their family reunion this month in Laurel, MS.
