The BirdieSisters played in the Chicago State University (CSU) Women’s Golf team’s first annual golf outing. The outing was sponsored by the Rotary Club of New Lenox and CSU’s golf coach (men and women), Ms. Alexis Mihelich, at the Sanctuary Golf Course in New Lenox, Illinois (58 miles 1hour 5 mintues from home). The game was 4 person best ball and the BirdieSisters were honored to play with Ms. Sharon Rushing and Ms. Marilee Gallagher. The group had a 9:00 am tee time with a 3:00 pm dinner. The ladies played well together, shooting 2 under — 70. Myah won closest to the pin on hole 4. It was an 80 yard par 3 and she placed her ball 6 feet from the cup. On the 6th and 11th holes the ladies of the CSU golf team ( Ms.Tessa Harp, Ms. Brittany Johnson, Diana Flores and Ms. Andrea Rosado) showed their skills with their irons. The weather was great, the food was good, and most of all the girls had a chance to make new friends. Good luck to all the golfers at Chicago State University from the BirdieSisters and their family.

The BirdieSisters are hoping that Spring is coming soon so they can get outdoors! Currently, they practice 2 hours a week at the Village of Bridgeview Sports Dome with Alexis Mihelich (amihelic@csu.edu). Alexis has taken an interest in helping the BirdieSisters refine their game. The BirdieSisters appreciate Alexis’s time and support. The BirdieSisters love having exposure to a female role model who understands the unique challenges of female golfers. The BirdieSisters also practice two days a week in their basement. Given their involvement in school, dance, Girl Scouts, Tae Kwan do, piano and church, this is about all the practice the BirdieSisters get during the school year. But lookout, things will certainly change with the temperature!
