BirdieSister Erica Jackson played in the Illinois Junior Golf Association’s event number 7, “Cog Hill Sizzler,” at Cog Hill Country Club in Lemont Illinois (located 29 miles from home/1hr.). The Weather was a very cool 59 degrees with clouds and the chance of rain all day.
After a double boggy at the first hole in the last 3 tournaments, Erica Jackson came out with a new attitude and started her round with a par. In fact, Erica did not make a double boggy all day. Her driver has found a glitch, which inhibits control and distance. So, we know her short game was on the mark. Erica has 2 lessons with her coach Alexis this week and she hopes to work out her driver issues while continuing to improve her short game. The BirdieSisters would like for you to meet their coach, Mr. Emanuel Worley. Myah’s first and only coach and Erica’s second coach. When the girls began training with Emanuel Myah was 4 years-old and Erica was 6 years-old. Emanuel plays a significant role in making golf fun for the Birdiesisters!

Summary: The bases of my teaching come from the many years of playing competitive golf. I have played golf at every level, Junior Tournaments, Amateur Tournaments and participated on the Futures Tour, Space Coast Tour, South Florida Tour, Mini Tour and Nike Tour. From my personal experience of working with top teaching professionals in the industry, it has given me the opportunity to develop a sound understanding of golf swing mechanics and the mental aspects of learning.
I have dedicated myself to learning the golf swing in a simplex and effective manner and apply my own learning and understanding to help my students learn the golf swing by simple, non-technical instructions. I strive at teaching a clear understanding of the basic fundamentals and stress the importance of each stage.
My teaching involves the use of drills, visual pictures, and video. The use of video has become an intricate tool in lesson giving, allowing the students to take part in their own learning and comprehensive of swing mechanics. It also aids in pupil-teacher communication. In addition to teaching the mechanics of the golf swing I like to add a little insight into other areas of the golf game, such as the importance of short game, course management, the inner game, and areas of physical fitness.
