Well how time flies when you’re having fun. Today BirdieSister Erica Jackson played in her final Illinois Junior Golf Association event of the year, the “Geneva Invitational” located at the Geneva Golf Course in Geneva Illinois – 48 miles ( 1 hour 27 minutes) away. Under sunny skies and a temp of 77 degrees, Erica played her last 10-11 year old event in this league.
For everyone who has been following , yes this did complete an undefeated IJGA season. Erica has worked hard this year and the roller coaster ride was great to watch. Erica is going to take a week off and get right back to work. She fully understands the level of play she is going to face next season and looks forward to seeing her old friends that left her last year.
Both Erica and Myah would like to thanks the staff and interns at the Illinios Junior Golf Assocaition for a wonderful season and good lessons learned.

This year’s junior golf season in the Midwest is winding down. Here’s what’s going on in August:
August 6-8 — US Kids World Championships, Pinehurst Resort in Pinehurst, NC
August 12th — Illinois Junior Golf Association YDP (10-11) Geneva Invitational in Geneva, IL
August 13th — US Kids Local Tour Championships, Balmoral Woods Golf Course in Crete, IL
August 17th – Bob-O-Links Championships, Jackson Park Golf Course in Chicago, IL
August 22nd – Rehab Motivators tournament, South Shore Golf Course in Chicago, IL
August 29th-30th – Mid-American Junior Golf Tour event #3, Bonnie Brook Golf Course in Waukegan, IL
The BirdieSisters will also attend some portion of the Solheim Cup Tour events in Sugar Grove, IL during the week of August 17th. The Solheim Cup is one of the most prestigious Women’s Professional Golf Tours in the world.

BirdieSisters played in their first MAJGT tournament yesterday and today. The MAJGT is a new junior golf league designed for those golfers who have demonstrated their ability to compete with the best junior golfers around the world. It was a 36-hole tournament held at Mill Creek Golf Course in Geneva, IL. With early tee times of 9:10am and 9:25am, the BirdieSisters were up at 5:00 am preparing to travel 90 minutes each way to Mill Creek. The weather conditions for this tournament were not the greatest. Yesterday at the start of play, it was about 55 degrees and drizzling. However, mid-way through the tournament the sun came out and the temperature increased to around 75 degrees. Today’s weather started out virtually the same as yesterday, except the sun never came out and the temperature didn’t rise above 63 degrees.
Both BirdieSisters Erica and Myah Jackson are competing in the Girls 11 and under division. This is BirdieSister Myah Jackson’s first 36-hole tournament, covering 5300 yards. Myah stated that she was up for the challenge. Although Myah’s score on day one did not reflect that she could handle 36-holes, she managed to lower her score by 16 shots on day two. Myah found a new level of play that we hope she never loses. We will keep you updated on her progress.
BirdieSister Erica Jackson played with an abundance of confidence on day one as she worked her game into a score of 82. Day two was also impressive even though her short game didn’t measure up to her game in day one. Overall, Erica had a very strong performance in this tournament.
